NECC Announces Upcoming Fall Esports Postseason and Championship Schedule
MANSFIELD, Mass.- The NECC officially announced the details of its upcoming fall 2020 postseason schedule earlier today. The conference will be sponsoring championships in each of the five games that it is sponsoring this semester, and will be awarding nine championships overall.
Headlining the announcement is that the conference is planning on streaming 39 of the 51 (76%) games in the postseason on all of its streaming channels – Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, as well as its television partner ESTV. Each of the conference’s nine championship finals will be streamed.

‘’We’re really excited about the upcoming postseason,” said NECC Commissioner Jacob VanRyn. “From talking with them, I know our players, teams, and schools are definitely fired up. To be able to stream more than 75% of the games with our talented group of professional casters is going to be really fun and I think it will be really well received. We’re very thankful for our schools’ flexibility to make our postseason streaming schedule work.”
Thanks to the conference’s partnership with HyperX, each championship-winning player will have their choice of the company’s world-class line of gaming peripherals: gaming headsets, gaming keyboards, and gaming mouse and mouse pads.
The NECC is currently in its first season of sponsoring esports with players representing more than 30 colleges and universities competing across five titles. The conference anticipates having more than 40 schools competing in the spring, spanning a nationwide footprint that includes representation from members of NCAA Division I, II, III, NJCAA, and Community College.
The conference will be announcing the titles it will be sponsoring during the second semester in the near future.
Since the conference announced its intention to sponsor esports, the NECC has set forth to provide a first-class experience for its players, while working to create a structure and rule sets that ensure safe and fair play for all of its competitors.
